The analysis of the energy required for the operation of the E-buses was conducted based on the data provided by the WBTC. The primary data source included the charging sheets from various E-bus depots in Kolkata. The power and energy requirement for 1180 E-buses was calculated on the basis of assumptions such as charging duration, battery capacity, estimated range and SOC(initial & final). Two cases were built on the basis of the utilization of chargers.
The analysis of energy required for the operation of other means of transport was calculated by a site suitability analysis. Based on the analysis, the number of chargers and the energy & power required was calculated.
